Abstract

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Yiqitiaoyin method treating irritable bowel syndrome of diarrhea type. Methods: 72 cases of irritable bowel syndrome of diarrhea type were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 36 in each group. Both groups were given Jinshuangqi to regulate gut flora, the control group was added with Smecta to stop diarrhea, the treatment group was added with the treatment of conifying Qi and regulating Yin. Both groups were treated for 28 days. In both groups, the changes of the symptoms of abdominal pain or discomfort, tenesmus, defecation felt not complete, changes of stool frequency, stool shape and properties, and adverse reactions were observed before and after treatment. Results: Compared with control group, symptoms of abdominal pain or discomfort, abnormal stool urgency and frequency, and mucous stool in treatment group were significantly improved(P 0.01). Compared with control group, the symptoms of tenesmus, defecation felt not complete, and the total effective rate in treatment group were improved(P 0.05). Constipation occurred in two cases in control group while there was no adverse reaction in treatment group. Conclusion: Yiqitiaoyin method treating irritable bowel syndrome of diarrhea type has satisfactory clinical effect and safety,so it is worth futher study.
