Abstract

During the Hengyang-protection battle,the Kuomintang military committee dispatched 5 corps to protect Japanese troops' from capturing Hengyang.The Kuomintang troops tried all means with heavy casualty and managed to approach as near as west railroad station and Chicken-coop Hill.Unfortunately,because of judgments on the enemy's information,improper deployment of Chinese troops,commanding disorder and poor cooperation between troops.Hengyang fell in Japanese troops' control.
