Analysis on Regional Differentiations of Urbanization in Shandong Province

Using Teil index and standard deviation, we measured the difference of the urbanization level in Shandong province, including the overall difference, difference between three regions and internal differences in 2000—2012.The results show that:(1) The urbanization level in Shandong province had the overall trend of expansion before 2009, and began to decrease after 2009.(2)Three intra—regional differences were dominated in the overall contribution rate before 2010, difference between three regions was dominated in the overall contribution rate after 2010.(3) The three regional internal and regional differences, the overall difference present a first increase then decrease trend,of all western minimum internal differences are minimum.(4)Through the analysis of the past 10 years the dynamics of factors of different urbanization level in Shandong province, the industrial structure and locational conditions were the main reasons for the difference. Therefore, the future development of urbanization in Shandong province should strive to promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure. and should continue to adhere to metropolitan area, one economic region, one economic belts development strategy, finally realizes the coordination of regional sustainable development.
