Abstract

The study on the biological characteristic of S.sclerotiorum showed that: the mycelia could grow better on PSA and millfeed medium and produce most sclerotiums on millfeed medium. The optimum temperature and the pH value for mycelia growth were at 25 ℃ and 7~8.The mycelia could make use of various carbon and nitrogen sources. The effect of light on mycelia growth was not evident. The range of temperature for ascospore germination was 10~30 ℃ and the optimum pH value was 7.The lethal temperatures for sclerotium and ascospore were 70 ℃ and 50 ℃ respectively.
