Abstract
Objective To investigate the influence of application of sufentanil for induction and target controlled infusion of remifentanil for maintenance in the elderly undergoing thoracic surgery. Methods Forty-five patients, aged 65-78 years old, undergoing thoracic surgery were randomly divided into 3 groups with 15 cases each. The depth of general anesthesia with target controlled infusion of propofol was modulated by BIS.Mean arterial pressure(MAP),heart rate(HR),bispectral index(BIS)at the baseline(T0),intubation(T1),1 min(T2)and 5 min(T3)after intubation,5 min after skin incision(T4)and the thoracic exploration(T5)were recorded.Recovery profile, perioperative side effects and the use of nitroglycerin were also collected. Results The time of extubation was shorter in groups of SR and R than that in group of S(P0.01).The percentage of restlessness was higher in group R than that in groups of S and SR(P0.01).The percentage of respiratory depression was higher in group S than that in groups of SR and R(P0.05).The number of patient given nitroglycerin was higher in group S than that in group of SR(P0.05).Conclusion Application of sufentanil for induction and remifentanil given by TCI for maintenance in the elderly had the advantages of stable hemodynmics, early recovery from anesthesia and less adverse effects.
