Transurethral Electrovaporization Prostate for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of transurethral vapor-resection of the prostate(TUVP) for benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH).Methods 161 cases of BPH were treated with TUVP electro-vaporizing loop. Patients were followed up with IPSS,QOL,PVR and urodynamic exminations.Results TUVP procedures were successful in all cases after meticulous pro-operative preparation.The IPSS were decreased from 26.6(25～34) preoperatively to 6.6(6～13) postoperatively,MFR increased from 6.2ml/s(5～10ml/s)preoperatively to 18.6ml/s(14～26ml/s) postoperatively,PVR decreased from 376ml to 8.9ml(8～24ml).Conculsion TUVP is a simple,effective and safe method to treat BPH.
