Abstract

The characteristics of ramie fiber and function mechanism of pectase were described. Based on trials, the optimal scouring process of ramie fabric with pectase was as follows: pectase 12 g/L, penetrating agent JFC 2 g/L, pH value 8, temperature 50℃, time 1.5h. The scoured ramie fabric was then dyed with reactive dye, and the influence of pectase treatment on dyeing property of ramie fabric was discussed. The dyeing properties of alkali treated fabric and pectase treated fabric were compared. It is found that the shade of pectase treated fabric was lighter than that of alkali, and the fixation yield of pectase treated fabric was also lower, while the rubbing fastness and washing fastness of both fabrics were better and almost the same.
