Survey on the Job Satisfaction of Head Nurses

Abstract

Objective To investigate the status of job satisfaction of head nurses.Methods A job satisfaction scale was used to conduct a job satisfaction survey in 68 head nurses.Results The total score of job satisfaction was(78.3±10.6).The score of internal satisfaction was significantly higher than those of the external satisfaction and general satisfaction(P0.05 for both).Job satisfaction of head nurses were not significantly related with age,techical title,academic degree and health status.Conclusion The head nurses were satisfied with job content,job security and management ways,but the satisfaction was lower in working environment and interpersonal relationship.Effort should be made to further increase the job satisfaction of head nurses so as to enhance the quality of clinical nursing care.
