Abstract
There have been a number of studies on Wei Yuan's Shi Gu Wei, yet they iust emphasize its value of Classical Learning. Actually, by viewing the Song Book as a multi-meaning text, Wei Yuan subverts the foundation of traditional literary interpretation and breaks the monopoly of Classical Learning discourse in traditional literary theory, which is epoch making in the history of literary criticism in late Qing Dynasty.
