Abstract

To observe the clinical efficacy of toxin-relieving and collateral-unblocking and kidney-nourishing therapy for diabetic nephropathy, 150 subjects were randomized into two groups: treatment group in which both Chinese and western medicines were given and control group in which only western medicine was given. After 12-week treatment, the symptom score, kidney function, blood lipid and blood rheology were observed. Results: The total effective rate was 86.67% in treatment group and 73.34% in control group; treatment group was superior to control group in the improvement of FBG, HbALc, CRE, BUN, urine albumin excretion rate, 24h urine total protein, urine MCP-1, TC, TG, HPL-c and LDL-C (P0.05 or P0.01). It is indicated that this therapy is effective for diabetic nephropathy.
