Study of modified Taohong Siwu decoction on refractory nephritic syndrome

Abstract

Objective It is to investigate the clinical effect of modified Taohong Siwu decoction (MTSD) on refractory nephritic syndrome (RNS). Methods Eighty six patients with RNS were divided into two groups. The treatment group were treated with western medicine and MTSD according to differentiation of symptoms and signs, MTSD were added or reduced some Chinese herbs. The control group were treated with western medicine. The clinical effects in two groups were compared. Results In the treatment group, the total relieving rate was significantly higher than that in control group ( P 0 05); the relapse rate was significantly lower than that in the control group ( P 0.01); the untoward reaction rate was significantly lower than that in control group ( P 0.01). Conclusion The combination of MTSD and western medicine is effective on RNS.
