Abstract

This paper reports a new species of the genus Flatocerus Liang et Zheng of Tetrigidae from Hainan Island. Type specimen is preserved in the. Research Institute of Entomology, Zhongshan University, Guangdong.Flatocerus hainanensis sp. nov. (figs. 1-3)The new species is allied to Flatocerus nankunshanensis Liang et Zheng but differs in the chancters listed in the following table:Measurements of body and appendages of the new species (♀mm): length of body: 11; length of antenna: 6; length of pronotum: 9; length of hind femur: 5.5.Holotype ♀, Maorui of Baoting County, Hainan Island, 24. VIII. 1984, collected by Lin You-dong.
