Abstract

In the present paper, a new genus and a new species of Tetrigidae are described. Type specimens are deposited in the Research Institute of Entomology, Zhongshan University, Guangzhou City.Alulatettix gen. nov.The new genus is allied to Formosatettix Timkham and Tetrix Latreille, but differs in the characters listed below.Type species: Alulatettix yunnanensis Liang, sp. nov.Measurements(mm) Length of body: (?)7.2, ♀ 9.3—10.8; length of pronotum:(?)6.0, ♀ 6.8—7.0; length of hind femur: (?)4.8, ♀ 5.3—5.5.Holotype (?), allotype ♀, Kunming (25°N, 103°E), Yunnan Province, China, 1900m, July 2, 1940, by J. L. Gressitt. Paratypes 1♀, Aug. 25, 1934; 1♀, Sept. 4, 1934; Kunming, by Tinkham.
