A NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS ATRACTOMORPHA SAUSSURE FROM HAINAN ISLAND (ORTHOPTERA:ACRIDOIDEA)

Abstract

This paper reports a new species of the genus Atractomorpha Saussure from Hainan Island, Guangdong Province. Type specimens are preserved in the Research Institute of Entomology, Zhongshan University.Atractomorpha fuscipennis sp. nov. (figs. 1-8)This new species is related to Atractomorpha peregrina Bi et Hsia and Atracto-morpha sagittaris ,Bi et Hsia, but differs in the characters listed below.Length of body, ♂ 19.2-21.2, ♀29.0-34.0; length of elytra: ♂17.0-20.5, ♀24.5-29.0; length of pronotum: ♂3.9-4.4, ♀5.5-7.0; length of hind femur: (79.0-10.1,♀12.5-15.5mm.Holotype♂, allotype ♀ Mt. jianfeng of Hainan Island (18°22'N, 108°52'E, Guangdong Province, 21 XI. 1983, collected by Lin Yong-gu arid Ma Wei. Paraty-pes: 4♂2, sane as holotype; 2♂ ,1♀, Mt. Jianfeng, 16. XI! 1982; 1♂, Yinggen, Hainan, 23. XI. 1982, collected by Liang Ge-qiu.
