Utilization of Oral Antihypertensive Drugs in Our Hospital

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To probe into the clinical utilization of oral antihypertensive drugs in our hospital for reference of clinical rational drug use. METHODS: The utilization of oral antihypertensive drugs in our hospital from 2008 to 2009 including drug varieties,consumption sum,DDDs and DDC as well as the drug utilization data of the inpatients in 2009 were analyzed statistically. RESULTS: The top 3 oral antihypertensive drugs on the consumption sum list were CCB,ARB and ACEI,with nifedipine retard tablets dominating the first place in terms of DDDs over the two years. Combined drug use accounted 73. 3% among the inpatients,chiefly the combination of two agents (45. 27% ). Nifedipine retard tablets showed the highest utilization frequency with 69. 32% . CONCLUSION: The utilization of oral antihypertensive drugs in our hospital is basically reasonable and it conforms to the current medication principle of antihypertensive drugs.
