Abstract
Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of omeprazole and domperidone for gastroesophageal reflux disease in asthma children. Methods Sixty-two children suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease were enrolled in this study. All patients were received both omeprazole and domperidone. The clinical manifestations, the index of 24-hour esophageal pH monitoring, the result of electrical gastroscopy, the change of mucosa biopsy, and the adverse reaction were compared before and after treatment. Results The score and the change of clinical symptoms were compared before and after treatment in 62 cases with GERD every two weeks. The clinical symptoms significantly improved after treatment by omeprazole and domperidone. The index of 24-hour esophageal pH monitoring was declined after treatment, and significant difference was found between before and after treatment(P0.01).The evaluation results of electrical gastroscopy and mucosa biopsy indicated that the clinical symptoms of reflux esophagitis gradually improved or vanished after treatment. There was a significant deference before and after treatment(P0.01).No marked adverse reaction occurred after treatment. Conclusion Combination therapy of orneprazole and domperidome is effective in treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease in children, and without any side effects.
