Promote the Practicality-Based on Reform in College English Reading Teaching

A new reform in college English teaching is being carried out in China,which demands some big change in the current teaching so that it can cultivate students who can not only read,but also have a strong ability of listening,speaking,writing,and translation.This paper,from the aspects of teaching and learning,analyzes the existing problems in college English reading teaching,and briefly explains the relationship between reading and the ability of listening,speaking,writing,and translation.According to the writer's teaching experience,it also expounds what practical teaching is and how to put this idea into practice in English reading teaching.
