Clinical study of clobetasol propionate compound ointment for treatment of psoriasis vulgaris

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of clobetasol propionate compound ointment(containing 0.05% clobetasol propionate and 0.025% tretinion) for treatment of psoriasis vulgaris.Methods: Randomized,double-blind and drug parallel comparison trial were adopted.A total of 72 patients with psoriasis vulgaris were divided into three groups.Treatment group was treated with clobetasol propionate compound ointment,control group 1 was treated with 0.02% clobetasol propionate and control group 2 was treated with 0.025% tretinion.Each group was treated 2 times daily for 4 weeks.The efficacy was accessed by the changes of symptom and sign in every patient. Results:After 4 weeks,the cure rate and effective rate of clobetasol propionate compound ointment were 62.50% and 95.83%,respectively.There was statistically significant difference of efficacy between the treatment group and each of the two control groups.No adverse reaction was observed in treatment group.Conclusion:The clobetasol propionate compound ointment is effective and safe for treatment of psoriasis vulgaris.
