The Change and clinical significance of P-selectin and ICAM-1 expression in patients with ischemic stroke

Abstract

Objective To study the changes and clinical significance of P-selectin(CD62P),serum intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1) expression in patients with ischemic stroke.Methods CD62P and slCAM-1 expression were measured by using ELISA in 30 cases of acute ischemic stroke(both acute and convalescence) and 30 normal adults as the control.Results The expression of CD62p and sICAM-1 in acute phase of ischemic stroke was markedly higher than that in convalescence phase(P 0.05) and that in control(P 0.05).CD62p and sICAM-1 expression in convalescence was still higher than that in control(P 0.05).Conclusion High expression of CD62P and sICAM-1 may participate in the pathologic process of cerebral ischemic injury and reflect the severity of disease indirectly.CD62P and sICAM-1 are closely correlated to devepment of ACI,and they are important paratnaters for the evaluation of clinical severity and can forecast the development of ACI.
