Reading Notes on the Poetics of Tian Wen

Though venerated as one of the Ten Scholars of Jintai and established as a poet,Tian Wen's poetics has yet received little attention mainly because Tian failed to establish his own poetic features due to his chasing the trends of Wang Yuyang.Tian was a strong proponent of Wang Yuyang's call for canonizing the poetic style of the Song Dynasty and many of his poetic ideas were in line with those of Wang's.Tian was one who maintained his preference over the Song poetry throughout his life,from whose poetics we could gain an insight into the basic ethos and trends of poetics during Emperor's Kangxi's reign.
