Abstract

Liu Kezhuang was a giant in the poetic circle and leader of the unorthodox school in the late period of South Song Dynasty. This paper concentrates on his systematic discussions of the poetic styles in Tong and Song Dynasties, revealing his historical status in the history of poetics during Song Dynasty. On the one hand, he confirmed the transformation of the poetic styles of the school of poets in late Tang Dynasty so as to correct the defective poetic styles in Song Dynasty.
