On Poetics of Sichuan Poet ZHANG Xiang-ling in Late Qing Dynasty

People know well the poetic work On Poetry by the Sichuan scholar ZHANG Xiang-ling in late Qing Dynasty,but they hardly know the writer's life and other relevant things.From the epitaph for ZHANG and his wife written by LIAO Ping,we may know the years of his birth and death.The friendship between him and other poets like WANG Peng-yun,ZHENG Wen-chao and KUANG Zhou-yi and their activities can be found from the relevant works about poetics.His work On Poetry illustrates his poetic concepts from modes and development of poetries and styles of poetics,from which we may see the influence of Confucian thoughts on poetics of late Qing Dynasty.
