Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate drug sensitivity of mycoplasma pneumonia from throat swab specimen in children with pneumonia.METHODS From Jan 2005 to Dec 2010,1260 cases of children with pneumonia were studied retrospectivly, throat swab samples were collected for the mycoplasma pneumonia culture and drug sensitivity test.RESULTS A total of 354 stains of mycoplasma pneumonia isolated from 1260 samples, the mycoplasma pneumonia positive rate was 28.1%.Mycoplasma pneumoniae was highly sensitive to Doxycycline and Minocycline, moderately sensitive to levofloxacin, roxithromycin, azithromycin, clarithromycin, and josamycin, while highly resistant to erythromycin, ciprofloxacin, thiamphenicol and tetracycline.CONCLUSION Mycoplasma pneumoniae becomes an important pathogen causing pneumonia in children, but highly resistant to regular antibiotics.Culture of mycoplasma pneumonia from throat swab specimen can offer clinical guidance for the choice of antibiotics in children with pneumonia.
