Abstract

Objective To investigate mycoplasma pneumonia (MP) infection in the region, to improve the understanding of this disease. Methods sputum specimens of inpatients with lower respiratory tract infection for or throat swabs were cultured, and the culture results were analyzed retrospectively. Results of 246 sputum, throat swab mycoplasma culture positive rate was 20.3% (50/246); men accounted for 11.4% (28/246), women accounted for 8.9% (22/246). Conclusion mycoplasma infection in this region is not uncommon, 65 years old patients with infection rates as high as 23.2%.Mycoplasma culture is the gold standard for the diagnosis of Mycoplasma pneumoniae, recommend the use of rapid culture of sputum, respiratory tract infection or pneumonia mycoplasma pneumoniae throat swab culture, to assist the early diagnosis and treatment.
