Abstract
The article reviews the advances of research on theory of dynamic design and modeling method in automobile powertrain. Many valuable studies have been made on powertrain bending vibration and tor sional vibration. Owing to the restriction of analysis conditions, the studies on the coupled vibration be tween bending vibration and torsional vibration are still to be perfected. Hence, based on the dynamic design method of artificial neural network model, the research focus in the future should be put on the influ ence of the coupled vibration between bending vibration and torsional vibration upon the vibration charac teristics of the automobile.
