Abstract
The article introduces the advances of research on vibration of vehicle powertrain. From the angle of vibration, powertrain is divided into a bending system and a torsional system. The vibration characteristics of bending vibration is studied through an experimental model analysis and the finite element method .The model of powertrain bending vibration has been set up and is more satisfactory. Many valuable studies have been made on powertrain torsional vibration. Owing to the restriction of analysis conditions , the studies on the coupled vibration between bending vibration and torsional vibration are still to be perfected, expecially in China .Hence, based on the satisfactory studies on the powertrain bending vibration and torsional vibration,the research focus in the future should be put on the influence of the coupled vibration between bending vibration and torsional vibration upon the vibration characteristics of the powertrain.
