Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the clinical applied value of Ranson scoring system on the the prediction of the severity and prognosis of severe acute pancreatitis(SAP).Methods:Two-hundred patients with SAP,who were admitted into Da Zhou Central Hospital from 1998 to 2007,were studied retrospectively.Data associated to Ranson scoring system were recorded,we analysed the severity of SAP patient and the relationship between the prognosis and Ranson score. Results:We found the mortality and mutiple organ dysfunction syndrome(MODS)were increasing with the increase of Ranson score. There were significant difference between death, recovery and those having local complication after treatment(P0.01).The Ranson score between the group with local complication and recovery showed significant differences(P0.05).The numbers of Ranson score was positively correlated with mortality, infection rate and the incidence of MODS,but it did not show any relation with local complication. The ranson score and mortality had positive linear relationship. Conclusion:For patients with SAP,Ranson scoring system played a very important role in assessing the severity, prognosis and improving therapeutic effect.
