Abstract
Objective: To compare the clinical effect on restoring residual root and crown with fiber post,Co-Cr alloy mold metal post and thread root post, and provide a reference for clinical applications. Methods: The 285 cases, with 327 residual root and crowns after root canal treated, were randomly divided into three groups. The fiber post,Co-Cr alloy mold metal post and thread root post were used to manufacture the post-core respectively, and all the teeth were restored with porcelain fused metal crown(Co-Cr alloy). After 1-3 years,we checked and recorded whether the occurrence of crown loose or fall off,post-core loose or fall off or post broken, root fracture, gingival discoloration, gingival swollen or bleeding on probing. The clinical effects among three groups were compared, and we make a comparison between anterior and posterior to restoration effects of teeth. Results: The success rates of fiber post, mold metal post and thread root post group were 97%,88% and 86% respectively, and there was a significant difference among the three groups, moreover the effect of the fiber post is the most optimal among the three groups.Furthermore there were no significant difference between the success rates of anterior(91%) and posterior teeth(90%).Conclusions: The clinical effect of fiber post is superior to that of Co-Cr alloy mold metal post group and thread root post group, and there was no significant difference in restoring effects of post-core crown between anterior and posterior teeth.
