Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic efficacy of acupuncture combined with medication in treating hyperplasia of mammary glands(HMG).Method A hundred and fifty patients with HMG were randomized into a treatment group, control group 1,and control group 2,50 each. The treatment group was intervened by abdominal acupuncture plus Xiaojin pills;control group 1 was by abdominal acupuncture;control group 2 was by Xiaojin pills. The three groups were compared in visual analogue scale(VAS) and therapeutic efficacy.Result The total effective rate was 90.0% in the treatment group versus 74.0% in control group 1 and 70.0% in control group 2,and the total effective rate in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in control group 1 and 2(both P0.05).The three groups all had significant changes in comparing VAS score after treatment(P0.01).The treatment group had significant differences in VAS score compared to both control group 1 and control group 2(P0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture combined with medication is an effective approach in treating HMG.
