Therapeutic Observation on Acupuncture plus Medication for Chronic Eczema

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combining medication in treating chronic eczema.Method Forty-seven patients with chronic eczema were randomized into a treatment group of 16 cases,control group 1 of 16 cases and control group 2 of 15 cases.The treatment group was intervened by acupuncture plus Chinese medicine,control group 1 was by acupuncture alone,and control group 2 was by Loratadin and external application of Clobetasol Propionate Cream and urea cream. The target skin lesions and therapeutic effects were observed.Result Inner-group comparison of the target skin lesions by the adopted parameters showed significant differences after treatment in the three groups(P0.01).Compared to control group 1 and control group 2 after treatment,the treatment group had marked differences in erosion and infiltration(P0.05).The treatment group was significantly different from control group 1 in scab after treatment(P0.05).Compared to control group 2,the treatment group showed significant differences in red spots and itch(P0.05).The total effective rate was 81.3%in the treatment group, versus 56.3%in control group 1 and 66.7%in control group 2,and the differences were statistically significant(P0.01). Conclusion Acupuncture combining medication is an effective approach in treating chronic eczema.
