A Shadow State Monastery:the Capital Operations in the System of Xingtang Temple in Chang'an and Kaiyuan state monastery in the Xuan Zong Emperor's

Abstract

There was no Kaiyuan state monastery in Chang'an city in the Tang dynasty.Wangji temple was renamed as Xingtang temple in the twenty-sixth year of the Kai-yuan reign-period of Emperor Xuan Zong of Tang Dynasty.So,the Xingtang temple should be a shadow state monastery in the Xuan Zong Emperor's Kaiyuan state monastery system.
