Abstract

After the famous Dolon Meeting, in answer to the request of the aristocrats of the Mongolian tribe, Emperor Kang Xi chose Dolonor to build the Hui Zong Monastery at his decree. The building of Hui Zong Monastery is of vital importance for the early Qing Dynasty to strengthen its rule over the Mongolian areas, national unity and the northern frontier defense. And, at the same, it had a profound influence over the development of religion and economy in Dolon.
