Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effects of Roeko calcium hydroxide point on root canal disinfection. Methods A randomized study of intracancal placement of calcium hydroxide as a therapy for teeth with periapical periodontitis was performed. One hundred and forty four single-root teeth in 144 patients with periapical periodontitis were randomly allocated to either the CP or the calcium hydroxide group. After the root cancals were hand-instrumented,they were given intracancal placement of calcium hydroxide or CP.After one week, the clinical efficacies of the two group were investigated and compared. Results The success rate of the calcium group was 88.89%,and the success rate of CP group was 72.22%,there was significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion This investigation confirms that calcium hydroxide pionts is superior to CP as an disinfectant in root cancal therapy.
