Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effect and safety of radiofrequency catheter ablation(RFCA) for supraventricular tachycardia(SVT) in children. Methods:RFCA was used for 8 children(14 years old)with SVT.Results:Eight children were predisposed to SVT,among them, right lateral accessory pathway in 6 cases, atrioventricular node reentrant tachycardia(AVNRT) in 2 cases. All patients were successfully ablated without complications and the success rate of ablation was 100%.There was 1 case of recurrence in 2 months after ablation and was undergone successful ablation again.During follow up of 4~24 months, there was no SVT recurrence in all patients. Conclusions:The results showed that RFCA for tachyarrhythmias in children is effective and safe.
