College English Teaching from the Perspective of Intercultural Communication

College English Teaching Requirements issued by Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China pointed out that College English is guided by foreign language teaching theory,it's main content is English knowledge and applied skills and intercultural communication as well as learning strategy,it's teaching system consists of various teaching mode and means.College English is not only a course for learning language but also for broadening knowledge and understanding the world culture,it combines instrument and humanity.The students' cultural quality and international knowledge should be cultivated fully in the course.So college English teacher must realize the importance of culture and try to foster the students' ability of intercultural communication in language teaching,improving cultural quality.
