Abstract

Objective:To investigate the influences of Shenmei Injection (SMI,参麦注射液) on immune functions in patients with respiratory failure.Methods:30 patients were randomly divided into treated group ( n =15 ) and control group ( n =15 ).Based on conventional therapy for both two groups the SMI 40 ml+5% glucose 250 ml infused intravenously once a day was added in treated group. The therapeutic course was 1014 days for two groups. Before and after therapy the T cell subgroup of periferal blood (CD 3,CD 4,CD 8, CD 4/CD 8 ),immune globulin (IgG,IgA,IgM),and soluble interleukin2 receptor (SIL2R) were detected separately in two groups. Results:After therapy in treated group CD 3 and CD 4 were significantly increased while SIL2R was significantly decreased and the decreased level was much more significant than that in control group after therapy. Conclusions:SMI is able to elevate the cellular immune functions in patients with resperatory failure,to help to shorten the ill course, and to improve the prognosis.
