Preparation of Acrylamide Homopolymer by Inverse Emulsion Polymerization

Abstract

By reverse phase emulsion polymerization,in liquid paraffin wax for continuous phase and acrylamide solution for the dispersed phase,N,N 'and methyl double acrylamide as crosslinking agent,ammonium persulfate as the initiator,Span 80 and OP-10 as compound emulsifier,preparation for the acrylamide(PAM) are homopolymers;Examine the solvent,crosslinking agent and dosage,nitrogen,monomer concentration,emulsifier types,oil and water ratio,the initiator of PAM dosage influence on the performance of the thing all together.Better polymerization conditions for: the amount of crosslinking agent for 2.5% of the mass of monomer,monomer AM content is 40%,oil/water weight than close to 1.0,the initiator ammonium persulfate as monomer content of 0.9%,use compound emulsifier Span 80/OP-10,HLB = 5.35.On the polymerization conditions,the system of the viscosity of the homopolymers PAM are larger,stability is good.
