Abstract
Objective:To investigate the protective efects of Field Lacquertree root against liver damage by CCl4 in rodents. Methods:Affused entogastric CCl4 to build the acute mouse liver injury mode1,Injected hypodermic CCl4 to set up the acute rat liver injury model and sub·acute rat liver injury mode1.Field Lacquertree root was given intragastrically in the treated groups. At the end oftest, concentrations of ALT and AST in serum, activity of SOD and the contents of MDA and hyp in liver homogenate were detecte.detected.Liver was excised and fixed in formalin for histopathologleal examination. Results:For the acute liver damage animals induced by CCl4,Field Lacquertree root could significantly inhibit the elevation of ALT and AST levels in seram(P 0.05,P 0.01) and MDA content in liver homogenate(P 0.05,P 0.01),and could increase the content of SOD in liver homogenate(P 0.01),Field Lacquertree root could significantly decreased contents of hydroxyproline in liver homogenate in sub·acute rat liver injury mode1(P 0.01).Conclusion:Field Lacquertree root showed a marked protective effect against liver damage.
