Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To study the protective effect of hyperfine (HP) on the acute liver injury in rats induced by CCl4. METHODS: Different dosage of HP was given to rats intragastrically for 3 days. Acute liver injury was induced by CCl4 with intragastric administration 6 h after last administration. After 24 hours, the content of ALT and AST in the serum, MDA content, the activity of SOD and GSH in the liver homogenate were determined. At the same time, the pathological observation of liver tissues was conducted. RESULTS: The different dosages of HP could decrease the content of AST and ALT in serum and MDA content in the liver homogenate significantly. And the activity of SOD and GSH increased significantly. The pathological sections showed that liver injury was relieved to different extent in HP pre-treatment group. CONCLUSION: HP has good protective effect on the acute liver injury in rats induced by CCl4. Its mechanism might be related with the inhibition effect of HP on antioxidant enzyme activities and anti-radicals activity.
