Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Tangbitong Capsule on peripheral neuropathy of diabetes mellitus. Methods 110 patients with peripheral neuropathy of diabetes mellitus were randomly divided into two groups. 55 patients in control group were treated by Methylcobal, 0.5mg one time, three times a day. 55 patients in treatment group were treated by Tangbitong capsule, 3 pills one time, three times one day for two months. The therapeutic effect and EMG were observed before and after treatment in both groups. Results The apparent rate and total effective rate in treatment group (58.18%, 92.72%) were higher than those in control group (38.18%, P0.05; 70.90%, P0.01). There were obvious differences of the MNCV and SNCV of media nerve and Tbil nerve between before and after treatment in both groups (P0.05, P0.01). Conclusions Tangbitong capsule could treat peripheral neuropathy of diabetes mellitus and improve the clinical symptoms and enhance the nervous conduction velocity of peripheral neuropathy of diabetes mellitus.
