Clinical observation of Huoxuetongbi Decoction on diabetes peripheral neuropathy

Objective To observe the clinical effect of Huoxuetongbi Decoction on diabetes peripheral neuropathy.Methods 112 patients with diabetes peripheral neuropathy were randomly divided into two groups.56 patients in the control group were treated with oral antidiabetic drug and mulvital B tablets.56 patients in the treatment group were administered Huoxuetongbi Decoction.The clinical effect was observed after eight weeks treatment and the level of blood sugar,haemorheology and nerve conduction velocity were investigated before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate in the treatment group and the control group was 85.7% and 33.9% respectively,and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).The improvement of blood viscosity,plasma viscosity,hematocrit and fibrinogen was better than that in the control group(P0.05或P0.01).The conduct velocity of sensory nerve and motor nerve was faster than that in the control group(P0.01).Conclusion Huoxuetongbi Decoction had definite effect on diabetes peripheral neuropathy.
