Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To observe the analgesic effects of Fentanyl transdermal patches for patients with pain induced by osseous metastases. METHODS: A total of 40 patients suffered from moderate or severe bone pain caused by bone metastases were randomly assigned to either 4.2 mg/patch group or 8.4mg/patch group (n=20 each). Analgesic response and toxic effect in the two groups were recorded. RESUTLS: There were no significant differences with regard to the response rate between the two groups. CONCLUSION: Fentanyl transdermal patches are proved to be safe and effective analgesics for patients with moderate or severe bone pain caused by bone metastases.
