Abstract
Lycium ruthenicum Murr.pigments were successively given to four to six week-day-old mice by oral administration, then the contents of lipid peroxidation products such as glutathione peroxidase(GSH-PX),superoxide dismutase(SOD),maleic dialdehyde(MAD) and lipofuscim, was determined. Results showed that red blood cell(RBC) SOD and whole blood GSH-Px activity and the ratio of serum GSH-PX /MDA in Lycium ruthenicum Murr.pigment group were significantly higer than those in control(P0.01),while the level of both serum MDA and lipid MDA in liver were significantly decreased(P0.05) by Lycium ruthenicum Murr.pigment.The swelling of mice liver mitochondria also be restrained. It is concluded that Lycium ruthenicum Murr.pigment has antioxidant activity in tested concentration.
