Abstract

Objective To investigate the distribution and drug resistance of 151 strains of Enterobacter cloacae isolated from elder inpatients. Methods The drug resistance of 151 strains of Enterobacter cloacae was examined, which was isolated from 151 elder inpatients from the year 2009 to 2011.Results The main sources of 151 stains of Enterobacter cloacae were sputum(53.6%) and secretions(24.5%).The drugs,to which Enterobacter cloacae was highly sensitive, were meropenem, imipenem and amikacin.Enterobacter cloacae showed a drug resistance to the other antibiotics in different degrees. Conclusion That Enterobacter cloacae showes drug resistance to antibiotics is getting serious day by day.Attention should be paied to selecting the antimicrobial based on the results of antimicrobial susceptibility.
