Distribution and drug resistance of 229 strains of Enterobacter cloacae

Abstract

Objective To learn the specimen distribution and drug resistance of Enterobacter cloacae in the hospital,and provide basis for,reasonable choice for antibiotics.Methods VITEK 60 automatic micro-analyzer and the supporting GNI,GNS-143 and GNI-448 were used for the isolation,identification and susceptibility test of the 229 strains of Enterobacter cloacae.Sensitivity results were analyzed by using WHONET5.5 software.Results Of the total 229 isolates of Enterobacter cloacae,59.0% was from respiratory specimens,13.5% from urine,and 12.7% from wound secretions/pus.The resistance rates of Enterobacter cloacae to meropenem,imipenem,and cefoperazone/sulbactam were 0.0%,0.4% and 2.5%,respectively,while to ampicillin,cefazolin and cefoxitin,the resistance rates were 98.7%,96.9% and 97.5%,respectively.Conclusion Enterobacter cloacae has multiple resistance with complex mechanisms.Reasonable use of antimicrobial drugs is important for reducing the emergence of resistant Enterobacter cloacae and its prevalence in the hospital.
