Abstract
Chengzeyuan, a garden of Princess Shou'en in Qing Dynasty, is located in the western suburb of Beijing, which was translated from a private garden of an officer. The garden brings straightforwardly the Wanquan River into the scope and leads to a beautiful landscape with two long rivers traversing from west to east and dividing the whole area into different parts such as courtyards, land and island. As a noble garden with the superb style, it is dominated by a central axis. Based on the materials and survey, the evolutionary history and the characters of garden design are explored.
