Abstract
The famous Genyue Garden was in Kaifeng,the capital city of the Northern Song Dynasty,and it was built during the transitional period of ancient Chinese garden from realism to being impressionistic.As a super-scale practice of the royal garden creation,Genyue Garden holds a very important and special position in the garden history and the study of this garden also become an unavoidable key topic in garden historiography with far-reaching academic significance.Issues in the study of the predecessor,the initial construction,establishment and ruin times,the later evolution,the relic stones,the naming changes,and the major mountain height of Genyue Garden are discussed and expounded deeply in this paper,with a view to promote the depth and scope of the study.
