Abstract
Objective To make a preliminary exploration of the effectiveness and mechanism of Danlong panting-arresting decoction in airway remodeling in asthmatic guinea pig.Methods Twenty-four healthy female guinea pigs were divided into four groups randomly(n=6,in each group):normal control group,model control group,dexamethasone group,and Danlong panting-arresting decoction group.The asthmatic guinea pig airway remodeling model was established by ovalbumin sensitized method,Danlong panting-arresting decoction was applied to intervene,and dexamethasone was used as control drug.After one month,detect the extent of airway remodeling and determine TGF-β1 level in guinea pig lung tissues.Results(1)Compared with normal group,WAt/Pi,WAm/Pi were significantly increased(P0.05)in model group.Compared with model group,the airway wall thickness reduced in Danlong panting-arresting decoction group,there being a significant difference(P0.05),but no significant difference compared with dexamethasone group(P0.05).(2)Compared with normal group,the extent of lung tissue TGF-β1 was significantly increased in the model group(P0.05).Compared with model group,the TGF-β1 content was decreased in Danlong panting-arresting decoction group,there being a significant difference(P0.05),but no significant difference compared with the dexamethasone group(P0.05).Conclusions Danlong panting-arresting decoction plays an inhibitory role in airway remodeling of asthmatic guinea pigs.It may reduce the TGF-β1 level of lung tissues in asthmatic guinea pigs,thus inhibit airway proliferation of smooth muscle cells and extracellular matrix and block the airway remodeling process.
