Abstract
Objective:To explore the effect of antiasthmatic decoction on thickness of airway wall, expressions of transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)mRNA and type Ⅲ collagen in airway of asthmatic rats and potential mechanism.Methods:40 male Wistar rats were divided into normal control group, asthma group, dexamethasone group and antiasthmatic decoction group,10 rats in each group. The rat model of asthma was established with ovalbumin inhalation, after 4 weeks, the expressions of TGF-β1 mRNA in pulmonary tissues and type Ⅲ collagen in airway wall were detected. Results:The expression levels of TGF-β1 mRNA and type Ⅲ collagen in model group were significantly higher than those in normal control group(P0.05);the expression levels of TGF-β1 mRNA and type Ⅲ collagen in antiasthmatic decoction group and dexamethasone group were significantly lower than those in model group(P0.05);the thickness of airway wall in model group was significantly higher than that in normal control group(P0.05),while the thicknesses of airway wall in antiasthmatic decoction group and dexamethasone group were significantly lower than that in model group(P0.05).Conclusion:Antiasthmatic decoction can inhibit the deposition of type Ⅲ collagen by decreasing the overexpression of TGF-β1 mRNA,and alleviate the occurrence of airway remodeling.
