Abstract

Objective To investigate the reasons and preventive measures of recurrent laryngeal nerve(RLN)injury during operation in patients with thyroid neoplasm.Methods The clinical data of 1076 cases of thyroid operation in our hospital from March 2000 to October 2011 were surveyed retrospectively.Analysis of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury causes and Prevention.Results Transient injury were 24 cases,permanent injury were 2 cases.Conclusion Familiar with RLN normal anatomy and variants,according to patients with specific situation choose whether RLN revealed the key is to avoid RLN damage.
